I've been away from the blogging scene, but... WOW!!!
I can remember when "Draft Palin" was the brainchild of a few of us crazies back before we had a nominee. And here we are, the starts aligned just right, and now the "maverick" McCain has chosen Palin to be his VP.
I've got goosebumps! Did this little group of bloggers and people in the know just do this??? Is it possible that the politicians really do listen to us??? This has renewed my faith in the process, not to mention my esteem of President-to-be McCain, that people in Washington really do go against conventional wisdom and listen to intelligent suggestions.
Now here we are, Obama has gotten through alienating the Clinton voters and picking the lamest possible veep. Then McCain comes along, defies everybody, hits a home run with conservatives and libertarians alike, picks a strong, beautiful, articulate and fascinating woman as his VP selection and just turned the entire race on its head!
With gas prices through the roof, McCain picks the VP candidate with THE MOST experience on this issue. With the Democratic nominee alienating woman faster than Andrew Dice Clay at a NOW convention, he picks a dynamic woman. With everybody guessing somebody else and looking for every little clue, McCain manages to pull a surprise.
Seriously, even in our wildest dreams the Palin supporters could not have scripted this better.
Congratulations to Draft Palin. I can't wait for the convention.
